Danger in Paradise
Temptation
As I woke up this morning, looked out my window, and saw the great surf, my first thoughts were my wonderfull memories of being in Waikiki, surfing the day away.
Blue and Beautifull
It doesn’t get much better than this. The warm sun, clean waves and blue water are inviting to say the least. I wanted to paddle out there and catch a few waves.
#@!~
Then I looked in the mirror to get a close-up of the damage to my eyelid from yesterday’s skin cancer sugery by plastic surgeon “Dr. PenKnife”. I share these less than flattering photos of myself to remind those who might underestimate the effects of the sun on their skin. 20 Years ago we didn’t have the protection available today, and I am paying the price. My dermitologist told me that sun damage is like the odometer on your car; “cummulative and irreversible”. Keep that in mind. He also said, “If you have had so few as two major sunburns in your life, your chances of skin cancer after 50 are doubled”.
Wear sunscreen, rash guards, and a hat. Had I done that I would reaching for my surfboard this morning instead of the Vicodin.

The waves do look a lot better than your eye does. It makes me think; thanks for that.

Here is what I have learned that can be shared that you all probably know but just in case, review the following: Some sunscreens feed tumor growth. It is best to cover up with hats and clothes, wear sun block but do not sleep in sunscreen.
It is very important to ingest the proper oils and foods that will help you fight off not only skin cancer but other cancers and, aid systems of the cardiovascular, brain function or chemistry, joints etc.. Vegetables of orange and green color help make melanin which helps you tan not burn and protects the skin.
Fish oils, flax seed oil without lignans, and olive oil will lubricate joints, the walls of the cardiovascular system and prevent a blood vessel being formed to feed a cancerous tumor. You do not want to give a tumor a blood supply, Omega 6’s will help grow a new vein or capillary to a tumor, Omega 3’s will not. Maintain twice as much Omega 3’s as 6’s, 6’s as 9’s so that you can lubricate your joints and make the calming and happy brain chemicals; your thyroid, pituatary and adrenals need those to combat depression and they will help you sleep and handle stress. Eat almonds, pumpkin seed and walnuts, not so much peanuts, they are a toxin for blood type O and B and do not have Omega 3 but I think 6 or 9. Fish, flax, and olive oils help return LDL or bad cholestrol to the liver and send it back as HDL. Lignans, by the way, are sediments like black pepper that lodge in the vein near the prostate and can form a tumor. Every man I know that ate lots of black pepper wound up with prostrate cancer. It is not allowed in my house.
Berries, green tea and extracts, red wine or red grapes, especially purple muscadine grapes, contain plant nutrients or phytonutrients that daily will help fight off cancers of all types and build up the immune system. Brown rice is a great balanced food, better than corn, a toxin for O and A, and wheat, also a toxin for O and A unless it is sprouted for three days then baked into a bread like Essene or Ezekiel brand breads. Quinoa and amaranth are excellent grains to use, but vegetable, will give you the most health benefits because green leafy ones for example have six times the nutrients as the most healthy grain. Grains have some of the Vitamin B complexes and folates though, and some fiber and a little protein. Beans contain some of the same properties as our internal organs and can help them heal themselves because they give them support. Aduki beans for strengthening the kidney, bladder, prostate; black beans for the women’s reproductive tissue.
I wish I could remember jokes but this is the stuff that sticks in my brain, food as medicine…
Ron, sorry for your skin cancer torture. Good thing we don’t love you for your looks anyway. We like all the stuff between your ears. Heal well.
