Starbucks Closing 600 Stores
It Had To Be
I hate the words, “I told you so”, but… I have been saying for a very long time now, “I could double the sales at Starbucks if they were to let me, but I know they won’t.” If you have ever looked at a line at Starbucks and chose not to wait in it, or even worse waited in it for a while and elected to get out of line and leave due to the wait, you know what I mean.
If you told people 10 years ago that we would wait in line to buy a $3 cup of coffee they would say that you are crazy. I have accepted the $3 part, but will never “do the line”. Starbucks would be better off fixing the sales and service in those stores than closing them up, but apparently they just don’t know how to do that.

I cannot understand how people can go out to get coffee. Aren’t they too sleepy to drive a car without the coffee? It is best as an antioxidant when it is consumed on an empty stomach, and not consumed with meals as it can cause pancreatic cancer.
Coffee mixed with tea is excellent, especially leftover coffee and homemade iced green tea. Why not make it in your own home or office? The coffee maker has been invented. Gevalia ships me coffee and new coffee makers whenever mine breaks.
Starbuck should hire you Ron, then they wouldn’t have to close a door.

I gave up on Starbucks a while ago. The standing in line is not for me. Then to top it off the prices are outrageous. The customer service is non existent at most stores. Some try with having an employee out front to take your order. But that doesn’t help with the waiting. If they hired you Ron to really show how it should be done they would excel in every way!! I love your quote about having 2 pennies up to your eyes and not being able to see the great fortune that is right in front of you.

Recently at LAX, I watched as people stood in line for up to half an hour to get coffee at Starbucks. I decided to go 20 feet farther, and got great coffee AND great service at a fast-food place, for less than half the price.
It must be an identity-thing

I only go to Starbucks if I can’t find another place that serves a chilled mocha latte - they are my place of last resort.
I agree, they really need Ron’s help!
