NOW WHAT???

Just when I thought…
I was so happy with my beloved iPhone, so much so in fact that I bought a MacBook Air computer. As it turned out I spent $3,300 to turn my life upside down. I spent an added $300 on SuperGeeks to rescue me, and I truly thought things were looking better, but instead they are getting worse.
My spiritual ups and downs are all detailed in the blog posts prior to this one, so I won’t bother repeating them. I woke up this morning fairly happy about the whole mess, knowing that it was going to be straightened out, but…

This is How I Feel Tonight
I’m far from a quitter, but I am emotionally and mentally exhausted; and ready to throw in the towel on this Mobileme piece of @!~#! My calendar dates keep vanishing on me mysteriously, and the latest is that now my iPhone won’t send or receive e-mail. All of this has been happening without me or anyone else touching anything today.
I have an 8 AM One-to-One meeting at the “Genius Bar” in the Mac Store in the morning. None of the “genuises” that I have met so far seem to know anything about getting the Mobileme working. If this one can’t either I hope he or she can shut it off and get me back to the manual synching I was doing before this so called improved process.

Until then… Stay tuned in, I WILL keep you posted.

I am so sorry you are having these issues… but glad you’re are sharing them with us.

I had considered Apple, even though they are missing a feature I love (the tablet experience). More and More i am deciding to stick with just them for the IPod (Verizon even has a phone that is similar to the IPhone but better specs and less issues from what i hear, if I ever want a phone to replace my tiny Juke).

    Hi Ron,

I’m following all this with great interest (and sympathy). :(

A guy at work was going to get the newest Iphone because an IPhone supposedly would synch a lot better with his Apple. But he is staying with Verizon because he thinks their system is much faster than ATT (3G?). I can’t remember if he has a Palm or a Blackberry, but I presume he has synch issues with his Apple. I’ll find out the specifics.

His Apple is ‘dual quad core’ (?) and he has dedicated some of its processors to running Windows (XP or Vista — I’m not sure which). Anyway, he claims he can run all the MS software under Windows, and he can also run his Apple video editing software too! This is something that I am considering — it might be solution for folks like me who would like to be fully compatible with the MS software at work, but would also like to be able to run Apple software for video, music, etc.

    Aloha,
    Paki

    Ron!!

Don’t worry; you’ve made the right decision by switching to Apple. Macintosh computers have just as much problems if not (and probably) LESS than any other PC out there. When it comes down to it, I don’t think it’s a matter of superiority between two brands of computers, it’s just a matter of which you are more comfortable with.

As you saw today, there are many more shortcuts with an Apple than a PC. In time, Ron, in time you will learn… I promise! If you have any questions, feel free to ask :)
