Meet My New BEST FRIEND
Rolf Nordahl at MacMouse
Several people reading this Blog recomended that I go see Rolf at MacMouse. I was hesitant because of the complicity to synching with my PC, so I went to everyone but Rolf. MY MISTAKE!
“Aha!”
As Rolf took my computer in hand, I immediately sensed that I am now dealing with someone who knows this thing. I was also impressed by his willingness to listen to me, rather than race ahead of me thinking that he knew where we were going. You would think I would get that at the Mac Genius Bar, but NOT!
“Hmmmm”
How would you feel should you require surgery and the doctor went to Google to figure out what to do? That is the feeling I have been experiencing at the Mac Store. In less time (and for a lot less money) than I have spent elsewhere, Rolf was able to diagnose, and more importantly, repair the problem. It all came down to one wrong box checked in the Mobileme preferences. His words were, “It’s simply Apple’s arrogance in assuming that the iCal in the MacBook Air would be my master calendar, and not Outlook on my PC.” The fact that I told them that repeatedly is irrelavent at this point. It’s working, and I am back in business.
The bottom line here is that when you need someone to look at your Mac, call MacMouse. Rolf will know what to do.

Aha Ron; you have learned two (at least) very valuable lessons.
1: MacMouse is the place to go for your questions, and 2; the Apple Store Genius Bar is not.
The Apple Store is a great place for me to check my e-mail when I am in the mall, but I can get as good of answers to my questions from Google as I can those “geniuses”. I think that’s where they get most of theirs from.
In any case welcome to the “World of Mac”. I think you will like it here. It’s unfortunate that you had such a rocky start, but look at how much more you learned than if it was smooth sailing.

Ron,
So pleased that you’ve put your Apple computer into “overdrive” with the assistance of Rolf at Mac Mouse. They’ve been my “Go to People ” for all of my Apple hardware, software and technical support issues for almost 20 years. And now you know why.
Aloha,
Pete
