Master Mind Alliance

Thinking Together
Napoleon Hill’s Master Mind Alliance concept was; “Whenever two or more minds come together, with a common goal, and in a spirit of harmony, there is an invisible mind created. That invisible mind is more powerful than the sum total of the individual minds, and it feeds the individual minds with ideas, hunches, motivation, inspiration and all of the things it takes to be great.”
Make note of the two essential elements that must be present for this phenomenon to work; a common goal and a spirt of harmony. Without those two elements you might have anger, resentment, ego clashes and self serving ideas that are not easily accepted. Does that sound familiar?

salespeople-arguing.jpg

“That was MY Customer”
When two salespeople argue over whose customer it was, I like to remind them that it was the company’s customer, and that they both work for the company. I have been asked to “settle” far too many “after the fact” disputes between salespeople who were both there at the time, but I wasn’t. Who do you believe? If forced to make the call I ask, “Okay, who did the customer give the money to?” Would you drop your tip on any old table in the restaurant after receiving great service? Probably not. It is oftentimes quite obvious to the customer who made the sale, and it’s not always the first person that said, “Hello.” Selling starts with a good greeting, but it doesn’t stop there.

Teamwork Works
It usually takes more than one person for a company to succeed. Without the company succeeding there is no opportunity for anyone. Everyone on the team is important to the success of the company. When emotions run high, step back, take a deep breath, count to 10, and ask yourself what’s best for the customer and the company. The answer is usually evident. When it isn’t, be the one to take the high road.

I am not involved in politics, however it is my understanding that a President works closely with specialists in each and every field of endeavor to create a think team to determine which is the best solution to a challenge. Ideas flow back and forth between all eventually, and they try to make the most educated decisions possible. If a bill is proposed by the Senate, the House or the President, everyone takes a stab at signing off on it or not. When accurate information is carefully considered and then by the weighing of the pros and cons, a decision is made, it can still not work out well and some with take knocks for it.

Campaigns are filled with angst and rhetoric. It has been going on for over two hundred years here. We mostly hate conflict it sounds terrible. Sometimes you have to pick things apart to tweak them to get them right. Well, one day things will be different, but not yet. Whomever gets elected will hopefully surround themselves with the most brilliant, honest, and compassionate minds in the business of helping the country. But, remember what Lincoln said about pleasing all of the people all of the time, it isn’t going to happen. Think of it as a numbers game, some you win, some you don’t. Life is always a trade off anyway. There is nothing wrong with writing your representatives with an expression of your concern or interest. How will they know unless they hear from us. Take part in polls that ask what you are concerned about. Think about the questions, listen and learn. At least we live in a democracy.

Now that’s a great idea. Stop the fighting right now, get these two “great guys” working together on OUR behalf, and get “That Woman” out of the picture. Is she a piece of work or what!!!

  3. mauijeff Says:

Give me someone… anyone… regaurdless of race, sex, or party… that says they will…

    1. bring home our troops from around the world
    2. secure our boarders
    3. deport illegal aliens
    4. cut spending
    5. abolish the current tax code with a flat/fair tax.
    6. become energy independent by doing everything.

Is that too much to ask?

  4. Marsha Rhodes Says:

Wonderful idea, but impossible to happen. I too would love to see the Palin go away, but I’m afraid we will have to tolerate her a bit longer.
My idea would be for the debate moderator tonight to lay down a simple rule; “Neither of you is allowed to use the others name. Just talk about what you would do, not what you think your opponent won’t do.” That would be very refreshing.

  5. UH Student 101 Says:

It sounds like mauijeff has seen the light and come over to the Obama camp Welcome aboard, I think that you are one of many. Your first requirement alone is enough for me. Unfortunately neither of these guys will do it, but McCain may never do it; he loves war. It’s his claim to fame.

  6. Pam Chambers Says:

I love Marsha’s idea. No candidate may mention the other’s name! Can you imagine?! They’d have to actually come up with some compelling content of their own!

  7. Bobbi A. Says:

Which John McCain will show up tonight? Will it be the phony nice guy we saw for years, or the nasty bastard we has seen in this election?
Could Palin have done that to him or was he like that all along?
We’ll see very soon who we get tonight…

  8. Allison Wright Says:

NOTHING NEW!!! Gag me with a spoon!!!

  9. Marty B. Says:

I have to admit that I felt pure pity for John McCain. It was hard to watch him literally lying through his gritted teeth. I don’t think he can stand the thought of this new kid (black to boot) on the block is so much smarter and more in tune with the American people than he is.
Go home to one of your houses John. You have humiliated yourself enough already.

  10. Reality Check Says:

Finally, John McCain stands up to Barack Hussein Obama and wins a debate; big time. Osama Obama was put in his place by Joe the Plumber. I loved every moment of it. Watch for a big change in the polls in the morning!

  11. UH Student 101 Says:

I was so proud of Barack Obama tonight when he was asked if he thought Sarah Palin was qualified to be president. 3/4 of the country would have just said, “No.” I would have said, “Hell no.” Barack took the high road on that one. Of course he didn’t say, “Yes.” Who in their right mind could? But he talked about her with respect while no doubt biting his tongue.

  12. mauijeff Says:

Coming to the Obama-Nation??? I don’t think so. All I heard last night was how Obama was going to redistribute the wealth of America the way he see’s fit. Can you say Socialism???

    Read my previous post…

    1. bring home our troops from around the world
    2. secure our boarders
    3. deport illegal aliens
    4. cut spending
    5. abolish the current tax code with a flat/fair tax.
    6. become energy independent by doing everything.

the only thing that Obama would do is #1… he is against all the others… not to mention taking away our 2nd Amendment Right to bear arms!!!

    God Bless America!

  13. UH Student 101 Says:

#1 is good enough for me. Killing thousands of people, Americans included is just not right. It cannot be justified, I don’t care how long McCain was in Vietnam. Lives come first. I cannot put anything else in front of that. And when it comes to money and taxes everything will be different when we stop sending it to Iraq.
What makes matters even worse is that Mad Woman from Alaska comes along with the deal. NO WAY; Obama won again last night, and in November he will win by the biggest margin in American history. In this country the majority rules; that’s the way it works.
When we become a peaceful nation you won’t need to bear arms. HOW STUPID is that anyway!!!???

  14. mauijeff Says:

Most Americans generally know that the USSR was a bad place and that it was good that the Berlin Wall fell; they lived through that. But they know little beyond that, especially young Americans in college today, born around the time the wall fell — Obama’s biggest supporters. Nowhere in America is Barack Obama worshipped as he is on college campuses, by students and professors alike.

What does it all mean for November 2008? It means that millions of modern Americans, when they hear that Barack Obama has deep roots with communist radicals like Bill Ayers and Frank Marshall Davis, don’t care; they don’t get it. Moreover, the leftist establishment — from academia to media to Hollywood — will not help them get it. To the contrary, the left responds to these accusations by not only downplaying or dismissing them but by ridiculing or even vilifying them, given the left’s reflexive anti-anti-communism. The left will create bad guys out of the anti-communists who are legitimately blowing the whistle on the real bad guys.

When the leftists of the ‘60s took over higher education and the media, they really knew what they were doing. This was brilliant, masterful, a tactical slam-dunk, a tremendous coup for them and their worldview, with ripple effects we can scarcely imagine.

  15. mauijeff Says:

Obama knows that his tactical bible — Alinsky’s Rules for Radicals — is dedicated to the original community organizer, someone so successful that in this figure mythology and history merge. Alinsky was referring to “the first radical known to man who rebelled against the establishment and did it so effectively that he at least won his own kingdom — Lucifer.” “The organizer is in a true sense reaching for the highest level to which man can reach - to create, to be a ‘great creator,’ to play God.”[11]

Obama’s insights for exploiting Christianity to advance the Marxist cause are a result of combining Alinsky’s tactics with what he learned from Wright for two decades.

  16. UH Student 101 Says:

The question for you (mauijeff) is, “What are you going to do when Senator Obama becomes YOUR president?
Those of intellect have been forced to live under the “leadership” of an idiot for eight years now, and are ready for a change. While McCain is not as dumb as Bush, he has been dumb enough to go along with all of his stupidity, including invading Iraq at the expense of countless American lives. And his running mate is even dumber than Bush, and McCain is about ready to, well, let’s say he may not have eight more years left, and God forbid that crazy woman from Alaska ever be in the power seat.
One more thing, the only “arms” you need on Maui are hanging from your shoulders to paddle with. Lighten up and go surfing. It may help you get through this trauma you are experiencing.

  17. mauijeff Says:

no argument about Bush… although we haven’t been attacked since 911… who would have bet on that? As for Obama… I’m sorry, I don’t want Socialized America… or as he says… redistribution of wealth. Palin is the only one that has enough “balls” to lead this country in the direction our founding fathers intended it to go. Obama AND McCain are Socialist! IMHO

  18. mauijeff Says:

BTW… the 2nd Amendment was intended to keep Government in check… so the people would have the power to over throw it… if necessary… and we might be coming to that!

  19. Amy Says:

Now you guys have me scared. “Overthrow the government”? I read somewhere that Palin had already been a part of a movement for Alaska to be removed as a part of the United States. She no doubt has the balls, too bad she doesn’t have the brains to go with them. Balls without brains is a catastrophe waiting to happen.
Maybe Joe the Plumber is our man; after all, he won the debate last. I am completely disgusted with the whole thing.

  20. mauijeff Says:

    Joe’s got my vote!

  21. Marsha Rhodes Says:

OMG! How ridiculous has all of this become? “Joe the Plumber” getting 21 mentions at the debates and thrust into the national spotlight. Have you seen this dude? What a joke!
Here we are in the most serious financial moments of our existence and we are embroiled in a debate over the comments (and lies) made by this guy. Give me a break; and an Obama too. This thing cannot end too soon.

  22. Lestie Says:

Hello from South Africa. How are you all going to deal with whomever comes in as US President 2008? What can you as a people do? Democracy takes too long to work these days … the populacfe doesn’t seem to have a voice really, they just go with the flow it seems, like we are having to do here in SA. Lots of Huffery and Puffery, little action, minimal service delivery, minimal ‘transparancy’, maximum opportunistic avarice and nothing the man in the street can do - except carry on adapting, regressing, wishing for and trying hard to just do things. Its like trying to hold onto or capture a handful of air.

Sometimes it reminds me of a Garfield joke I once read (thanks Jim Davis) where Garfield says on the front of a greetings card “Oh well, its the same today as it was yesterday…” Then when you open the card, on the inside it say “Breathe…Breathe…Breathe.”

Am usually a happy and positive person, but this political whirlwind I am living through along with everyone else is taking its toll, so sorry for the depressing post.

Now… give me the Festive Season to think about anytime! The joy, the excitement, the present picking, the kids faces, the smells, the holiday fall out, the meaning and spirit of the season … there’s a present for me for sure.
