The Negative Economy Spin Zone
GET POSITIVE - WE NEED IT
An economy article in today’s PBN was entitled:
Retailers Brace for Ho-Hum Holiday Sales
My problem with these negative, sensational headlines is that some, if not most people don’t bother to read the entire article, but they do “spread the news.”
As is so often the case, this article has a silver lining. I’d love to see that “lining” be the headline.
It could just as easily have read:
Holiday Spending Will Exceed Last Year
You see, if you were to read the article it reports; “U.S. consumers will spend an average of $832.36 on holiday-related shopping, a 1.9 percent increase over last year.” But it then goes on to say that it would be the smallest increase in six years. The second part got the headline. Give us a break!

The print media is in the toilet because of the Internet. Why would anyone want all of those papers anymore??? So, they are, as always, looking for headlines on the news stand. “Charley is doing great” just doesn’t sell papers. When everyone stops buying them all together they will go away and we will just go to CNN on the web.

Thoughts become, right? What you did Ron was exactly right. You turned it around. I train everyday to erase the old recordings and re-new the words of positive thinking. Headlines always attract attention….it is what we do with our intention, Eh?

There you go again Ron, trying to escape reality. Talking about “spin” while spinning away at silly positive falsehoods. Face it buddy, we are doomed!

The mainstrem media should be shot for mis-representing the truth and fear mongering! They want US to believe these are the worst times since the Great Depression!!!
Give me a break… we aren’t even in a recession by definition… 2 consecutive quarters of a drop in GDP… we’ve only had one.
I’m not denying that these are some challenging times… but are they as bad as the Carter years… gas lines, double digit prime rate, unemployment… and such???
