More Coffee?
“Warm it Up?”
Favorite Post Revisited: A short while back, a wait person asked me if I would like some more coffee. I had about a quarter cup left, and said, “You can warm this up, thank you.” He took my cup to the kitchen, micro-waved the existing coffee and brought it back to me, “warmed up.” Actually it was now too hot to drink.
Be careful what you ask for, it just may be taken literally.

I am amazed at how an idiot like this could keep the job. The other possibility is a stupid cost saving policy of the restaurant. In either case I wouldn’t go back.

Mr. Reality Check…
Lighten up! You keep missing the point.
Ron - Funny story - I had a great laugh on this one. I am still laughing. I can just see the waiter taking the coffee back, then coming back with a smile - “here you are sir”. LOL

A fairly prevalent practice, similar to this story, makes me crazy…seems that most restaurants have stopped using the old fashion “Bunn” coffeemakers…and whatever they do use now doesn’t allow them to bring a pot to the table for re-fills. This means, alot of times, I get alot less coffee than I use to (I know - probably better for me), but I also don’t like that what happens is either they take my cup back to the kitchen to refill it (yep - i guess its mine — there’s the lipstick mark) or we end up with multiple coffee cups on the table.
Oh …and by the way…those thermal carafes that DO get to come to the table don’t keep the coffee hot - I have had to complain about lukewarm coffee more times than I can keep track of.
Thanks for letting me get that off my chest hahaha!!

How the server never heard that term is ridiculous. He must be new and too young to know of the it. Some people take everything literally, it is an actual problem with some who have a mild form of Asberger’s Syndrome. Still, that is a very funny story. I hope you explained what the term means so he could learn something new. How else would he know if there wasn’t anyone who explained it to him?
