Get it ALL

Just Squeeze!
REMINDER - I doubt if there’s anyone that doesn’t get the most out of a tube of toothpaste. It’s as if there’s always some left in there. Although there may be a fresh, full tube in the waiting, people will not waste a drop of the old one.
What if you approached the hours in your day the same way? Once today is gone you will never get it back. Squeeze all you can “INTO” today and it will be easy to get even more “OUT OF” tomorrow.

There can be no doing a task of any kind until you recognize that there are things in your day that need to be done. I use my calendar everyday to get the things done I need to complete for that day. It’s so true that once the day is over you will never be able to get those precious hours back again. Ron use to have a badge that said “DO IT NOW” or you could say “GET HER DONE” whichever is your preference. I feel like I have accomplished my daily goals when everything is checked off for that day. The older I get the more I depend on these lists of action plans. It’s my road map for the day. I find it challenging to get all the things completed.

Toothpaste and success??? Now there’s a stretch!!!

Ramona I do the same thing, make to do list. And, when the toothpase is practically done, I cut the tube in half and dunk my toothbrush in the there is plenty in there for another week.

    Hello all,
Now I must admit that I am a nutter when it comes to using everything in any tube, especially the toothpaste one, but this is the first time I have seen such a good example of using such an everyday action in connection with the running away and wasting of time. What a good example it is and how the message gets home! I wish I was as good at using my time as I was at cleaning out the toothpaste tubes and you can bet now that everytime I brush my teeth, I will be thinking of time passing and am determined to ask my self that perennial question “What is the best use of my time…right now?” Just have to box smarter. Have to.

    Cheers

From reading the comments it seems as though some people think that this post is about saving toothpaste; I think the point was missed by them. Maybe Ron should not have been so clever and used a photo of a calendar or clock to make his point. You really do need to “dumb things down” these days.

Squeezing every minute out of the day is a good thing some of the time. When working, it is a must. Even if you are not selling, it is good to think about selling tactics, so we can be better when the time is right.

Some of us who squeeze the toothpaste to the last drop are fastidious, and are probably so in their careers. We can use our intelligence to get other jobs done well. The time to work is just as important as the time spent playing or enjoying the fruits of our labor. That point is well noted by those who work the hardest, and don’t play when they are supposed to be working. That is why Ron says we must squeeze the most out of our day, and I think he meant workday. Preparation counts too.

Squeezing the day is like “carpe diem”, seizing the day. Get it all done, and once in a while, just relax and enjoy life, so that you can commit to working because you had enough down time. We have earned a rest by working hard when it is the time to.

“Squeeze the day”, that should be a new “Ronism”. Yeah, as in “don’t put off till tomorrow, what you can squeeze today”.
