The first time I saw one of my books in this condition I was horrified and gave her a new dust jacket for it. For example, these are the top 10 traits that I have observed successful salespeople to possess. There is a paragraph on each trait telling why it is important and how to work on developing it. I then ask people to score themselves on a 1-10 scale for each trait. For ENTHUSIASTIC, rate 10 if you are bouncing off of the ceiling, and 1 if you are as dull as a rock. At the end total your score. If you get 100, you can probably use another opinion.
There are several other “Success Tools” in the book and to get them all down takes more than just a “read” through. It’s not a novel. There are 17 chapters in the book and I suggest reading a chapter a day, which is about a two or three minute-a-day commitment.
